My Right to be Right

1 min read

Some way some how it has been engraved in our minds that we have a right to be right.

As a result,  we have the tendency of always wanting to be right even though sometimes we do not know we are wrong. But it is more difficult for us to let the other party win especially when we are certain we are right.

I gave up my right to be right, when I realised it had the power to make me go angry and  made me scream on top of my voice so I can be heard by the other party.

I gave up my right to be right when I realised I would rather be in charge of my emotions than let my emotions control me.

I gave up my right to be right when I realised I valued peace more than enjoying a few seconds of winning an argument.

Now that I even think of it, I am not sure what I gain from winning every argument other than boosting my ego.
